7:00am departs from your hotel to Battambang (170km for 2 and half-hours drive). Battambang is the second biggest city of Cambodia, however it remain calm and the atmosphere truly bring you back to the French colonial era. It’s also known as “rice bowl” of the country, the rice production of this province alone is enough to make Cambodia self-sufficient in terms of food.
Arrive Battambang around 9:30am; take the city tour orientation along Steung Sangké River and the colonial buildings. Continue to Odam Bang village about 3km from the town. Upon arrival to Odam Bang village take the small train (Bamboo train) through the rice fields to Osroy Lov, and then return back to Odam Bang village by the same small train. Visit Wat Kor village, where the old traditional houses aged between 80-100 years old still exist for the home of villagers. Continue to the striking hilltop temples of Phnom Sampeau & Phnom Banan, this massive limestone outcrop is dissected by a number of caves some more accessible than others, with some containing unexpected reminders of Cambodia’s history. Drive back to Battambang along Steng Sangké, area grows a variety of tropical fruits and after the rainy season farmers plant all kinds of vegetables along the fertile river banks, here you can learn about traditional agriculture. Return back to Siem Reap, tour end at your hotel around 19:00. End of service!
