DailyFull Day Tour

This tour offers you a close up on Siem Reap’s exceptional crafting experiences in and around the city. You will witness breathtaking gardens, traditional Khmer workshops using natural materials and century old tools. The items you will find on this tour are all internationally appreciated for their unique craftsmanship.

The first stop is a visit to a local lotus farm which operates as a Cambodian “fair work project”. This project focuses on sustainable farming methods as well as paying fair wages to the people who are treated with respect and dignity. After you have witnessed the farming processes, we move in to a fashion arena. The farm creates fabrics and products with lotus fibers in a 100% ecological environment. The stunning garments manufactured here are chemical free, waterproof, breathable and light.

Continuing along the fashion theme, our next stop is at one of Siem Reap’s famous designers of couture and atelier. With roots in Madagascar this world renowned designer moved on to Paris. His Haute Texture and garnered attention from world famous countries such as Yves Saint-Laurent muse Loulou de la Falaise and the iconoclastic Christian Lacroix. You will have time to enjoy the wide range of beautiful designs at this shop and the studio. After perusing the latest collection you may begin to understand why this couturier prefers being known as Texturizer. Lunch at restaurant

At the afternoon, when it comes to crafts, your day would not be complete without a visit to the home- cum-atelier-gallery of a famous Cambodian artist. This oasis, a little outside the city centre, is without question a huge step-up for Siem Reap. The artist maintains his strong Khmer ethic roots in his work which include lacquers, painting and sculpture. Enjoy the warm welcome and the tranquil environment as you wander through the Khmer traditional wooden house-atelier with its tropical garden. This house holds a unique private art collection alongside product which were both conceived and created on site.

As you move back towards the city you will make your final stop at a little villa where incredible laquerware is produced by a team of local people. Since its inception in 1998, countless numbers of Cambodians have been trained in special art lacquerware. A visit to lacquer workshop which is tucked away in the shaded garden is a wonderful experience. Here only vegetal lacquer from the sap of local lacquer trees is used. This workshop is not only bringing back the art of lacquer, but bringing back free-thinking and creativity for the Khmer people. This delicate lacquerware art form is found in panels used in Louis Vuitton stores around the world.
